Throughout June-December 2009, PaMPITO undertook a round of consultation to discuss with industry representatives several proposals to update our suite of qualifications. We received great feedback from all of our industries and now provide this area for people interested in the detail of our proposals to take a closer look.

Please continue to provide feedback on these documents. the following information advises you of our progress updating our qualifications

 

Application 1: Rotational Moulding Unit Standards review - Completed

This application was submitted and approved following a review of the Rotational Moulding unit standards 16116-16121 with our Rotational Moulding Industry Advisory group. Several minor amendments were made and resubmitted to NZQA for registration.

 

Application 2: Combine Pharmaceutical & Allied Products
into a new Good Manufacturing Practices domain - Progressing

Following advice from industry we are combining two current domains into a new one renamed Good Manufacturing Practices. Further consultation with other standard setting bodies is required. This is being actioned in February 2010.

Application 3: Rename the “Plastics Processing – General”
domain as “Materials Processing” - No longer required

As a qualification maintenance initiative, we sought industry sanction to rename our Plastics Processing – General domain as Materials Processing. Advice from our industry sectors resulted in us not proceeding with this proposal.

Application 4: Technical amendments to Glass
Container Manufacturing Qualifications - CompleteddCompleted

The National Certificates in Glass Container Manufacturing required technical amendments and repackaging to better reflect the Glass industries intention for these qualifications. These amendments have been made and have been approved by NZQA.

Application 5: Technical amendments to Plastics
Processing Technology (Production) Qualifications. - Progressing

The National Certificates in Plastics Processing Technology (Production) qualifications require technical amendments and repackaging to better reflect the plastics industry's intention for these qualifications. These amendments are currently being actioned.

Application 6: Technical amendments to Plastics
Processing Technology (Technical) Qualifications. - Progressing

The National Certificates in Plastics Processing Technology (Technical) qualifications require technical amendments and repackaging to better reflect the plastics industry'ses intention for these qualifications. Thesse amendments are currently being evaluated by NZQA.

Application 7: Accreditation extension application - Completed

PaMPITO wish to extend their accreditation scope to include all unit standards covered in the qualifications we currently use. PaMPITO currently only has accreditation for industry specific unit standards. PaMPITO has had approval from NZQA for the following areas:

  • Occupational Health and safety domain
  • Engineering domains
  • Communication skills domains
  • Workplace fire & emergency reponse domains.

 

Application 8: Certificate in Plastics Materials Level 5 - Progressing

PaMPITO is creating a new suite of qualifications called the National Certificates in Plastics Materials at Levels 2, 4, and 5. These qualifications will be targeted at suppliers and ancillary staff with the Plastics industries. These qualifications are currently being evaluated by NZQA.

Application 9: Diploma in Plastics Processing Technology Level 5 - Progressing

An Industry Advisory Group reviewed this qualification in 2009. Amendments have been made to the diploma and the reviewed qualification is currently being evaluated by NZQA.

Application 10: Rename the Pharmaceutical
& Allied Products qualifications - Progressing

Following industry advice we would like to rename the National Certificate in Pharmaceutical and Allied Products to the National Certificate in Good Manufacturing Practices. We are continuing consultation on this proposal.

Application 11: Creation of National Certificate
in Materials Processing Level 1 qualification. - No longer required

Following industry consultation we have decided that this is no longer required.

Our suite of qualifications included industry specific technical qualifications, plus a range of non-technical qualifications designed for the various roles that companies require.
