PaMPITO offers a range of ways to develop new skills. On-job training is where trainees work in a structured way within their job to develop skills. This involves learning new skills whilst at work with the support of a workplace mentor. Once you feel you have mastered these skills you can be assessed by a Workplace Assessor to achieve a relevant unit standard.
Typically, to start with, employees and their employer select a suitable qualification or limited credit programme. The programme is likely to include both on-job and off-job (courses) components.
To support the trainees to achieve the on-job components, distance learning materials or trainee workbooks are provided to guide you through the learning.
PaMPITO’s Training Services Managers also support you by giving guidance, advice and study tips.
On-job training is a valuable part of the training process as it allows you to learn and practise skills that you need and will use at work. It is important though that is it structured with clear goals and tasks, so that you keep progressing. |
