Workplace Assessors

Many of PaMPITO’s unit standards can be assessed on-job by a Workplace Assessor. PaMPITO’s Workplace Assessors are people who are subject matter experts in their field. They know what’s required to meet the standard and they are trained to carry out assessments in a fair and consistent manner, ensuring they follow the stringent assessment criteria. Being a PaMPITO Workplace Assessor is in itself a great accomplishment. PaMPITO’s assessors are well respected for their skills and experience in their particular field.

To become a PaMPITO Workplace Assessor you must:

  1. have Unit standard 4098 on your NZQA record of learning
  2. be nominated by your company to become PaMPITO accredited
  3. pay an annual registration fee of $120.00+GST
  4. participate in annual professional development opportunities
  5. agree to be check-moderated at least once a year.

Ideally we expect our Workplace Assessors to be competent to one level of skill higher than they will be assessing at, or, alternatively have someone expert at that level in attendance during the assessment.

Thus, those who are trade qualified or process experts are those most often trained as assessors. Additionally they should be people who can create a good rapport and have credibility in the workplace.

PaMPITO holds a Workplace Assessor conference and professional development activities annually and we actively support our Assessors.

Anyone interested in becoming a Workplace Assessor should email Matiu Payne, our Quality Systems Manager at matiu@pampito.org.nz

If you already have unit standard 4098 and wish to apply for accreditation please download a copy of the application form here and post back to us at PaMPITO.
