MANUFACTURING SECTORS

The Plastics and Materials Processing Industry Training Organisation (PaMPITO) aims to lead tertiary education and training in the Plastics, Glass Container, Paint, Ink, Resin and Adhesives, and Pharmaceutical manufacturing sectors of the New Zealand economy. It is committed to ensuring that employees in the sectors covered have the knowledge and skills required now and in the future.

Most manufacturing processes utilise the same basic skill sets in the process of production. They differ mainly in process specific skills. It is therefore the intention of the PaMPITO to continue to offer should they so wish, extension of coverage to other process manufacturing sectors, including the large number of Small to Medium sized Enterprises (SMEs) not covered by an ITO.

ITO activities will continue to support member companies’ export related and local manufacturing initiatives, which currently add in excess of $2 billion to the national economy.
